Philippe Snel Joins the Sino International Professional Advisory Council (SIPAC) as Senior Advisor

The Sino International Professional Advisory Council (SIPAC) is pleased to announce that Philippe Snel has joined the platform as a senior advisor.
Philippe Snel has been practicing as foreign lawyer in China for the past 20 years. Being an entrepreneur at heart, he independently started his practice in Shanghai as early as 2001 and has been working and living permanently in China since 2004. Not only has he been a privileged witness to the staggering development of the country during the past two decades, he has also played an active role in this process as he has assisted and advised hundreds of foreign investors, companies, entrepreneurs and managers alike, to establish and develop their businesses in China. His outstanding contributions, in particular to the development of the city of Shanghai, have been recognized by the Shanghai Municipal Government who bestowed him with the Silver Magnolia Award, one of the highest honors attributed to foreign nationals in Shanghai. Philippe earned his law degree at Leuven University in 1995 and joined the Brussels Bar as from 1997. His main practice mainly involves commercial and corporate law as well as IP law. Philippe is proficient in Dutch, French and English and conversational in Mandarin and German.
SIPAC Chairman Robert Lewis commented:
“All of us at SIPAC are extremely pleased to be able to have Philippe join us as a senior advisor. He is an exceptional lawyer with deep experience in and understanding of China. He is one of the rare foreign lawyers in China who was a partner in a leading European law firm in Brussels prior to coming to China more than two decades ago, which gives him unique insights into Sino-European legal and business relations. We are excited to work closely together with Philippe in respect of designing and building new models for legal services between East and West on the SIPAC platform.”
Philippe Snel commented:
“I am very honored to join the SIPAC platform and assist in its further development. I believe that SIPAC has the potential to fill the huge gap in knowledge and understanding between legal practitioners in China and elsewhere in the world, in particular in Europe and the US. This gap is too often at the heart of difficulties met by Chinese business expanding globally. Working together on the SIPAC platform, professionals inside and outside China will be able to help Chinese companies engage more effectively in the evolving global marketplace.”
